Trainer Bethany Wallace rides dressage on chestnut horse

USDF Bronze Medalist & ARIA Certified Instructor

Bethany began training horses professionally in 2002 after being raised by her Mom and Grandmother, who taught lessons, bred and trained horses, and competed in dressage and eventing. Raised in Virginia, Bethany showed as a child and teen in the hunter/jumper shows of Upperville and Middleburg. After years of jumping, Bethany became passionate about dressage as a young adult. She pursued her passion when she moved to San Diego, training with FEI trainer Suzan Strahan and then with Grand Prix trainer Sandy Burns-Gardner, whose coaching helped her move up the levels to earn scores in the mid-sixties showing at Intermediate 1.

Bethany has had the opportunity to clinic with dressage greats Guenter Seidel, Jan Ebeling, and Paul Belasik. Currently she continues her education with Paul Belasik, traveling to his farm in Pennsylvania to ride with him as often as possible as well as hosting clinics with him at Hawkwood. His methods and philosophy have had a pivotal influence on her riding. In eventing, Brian Sabo and Taren Hoffos have been influential, and in horsemanship, Bethany trained with Debbie Rocha and has studied the work of Ray Hunt, Buck Brannaman, and Tom & Bill Dorrance.

In July 2014, Bethany moved from San Diego to Northern California and has been showing and coaching successfully at recognized dressage shows and horse trials in the area. Bethany brings experience and passion for horses and the art and science of riding to her training and lessons. She believes that every rider, herself included, is a lifelong student of the horse. She invites you and your horse to come join her on this journey!
