Training and instruction is offered for dressage and hunter/jumper, as well as behavioral training and basic education for young horses. Each training program is tailored to meet the individual horse and rider's needs. Every horse benefits from the balancing and strengthening exercises of dressage, and Bethany brings that to her daily work with every horse she trains. She has also found that cross training and work outside the arena helps maintain a horse's physical and mental health, providing a time for relaxation, and a wonderful opportunity to encourage impulsion and forward movement. Bethany enjoys working with young horses, from teaching them the basic lessons of leading and giving to pressure, to starting them under saddle. She works patiently with every horse she trains, and builds a lasting framework of trust and positive communication.
Dressage builds more balanced and athletic horses. It is an important foundation no matter what you have planned for your horse's future. Whether you want to develop and maintain an upper level athlete, show at the lower levels, or simply want to improve communication with your horse, Bethany can put together a training program to help you achieve your goals.
When training over fences, Bethany's focus is on developing confident horses and riders. When brought along correctly and not overfaced, every horse can enjoy jumping. She instills in her jumping students a strong respect for correct basics, with George Morris' well known quote in mind "perfect practice makes perfect".
From basic handling and tying, to starting a youngster with long lines and under saddle, Bethany fits her training schedule to a young horse's needs - consistent and patient work, building strong basics for future success.
